This is an optional blog for those who missed a blog or would like extra points. 


Select a Web 2.0 tool that was on the list distributed in class or find a similar tool on the Web. Respond to the following:
1) Name the tool and describe the purpose of the tool, appropriate age level, and strengths and weaknesses of the tool.
2) Give 2 examples of how it could be used as an educational tool.
3) Tell what stage of learning you are describing in your two examples.
4) Describe the level of interaction of the students for each of your examples.

This blog is due the DAY of your CLASS! In which stage of learning do you think that using the interactive whiteboard is most effective. Justify your answer with a specific example related to an academic skill.  (There is no right or wrong stage if you justify it appropriately!)

Anchored Instruction and Enhanced Anchored Instruction

Select a specific skill that you want to teach. Identify the grade level, curriculum area, and the specific skill. Describe how this skill could be taught using (1) procedural instruction, (2) anchored instruction, and (3) enhanced anchored instruction. Be specific and label the parts of your response with 1, 2, and 3 corresponding to the three types of instruction mentioned above. Read through the examples that others have given and do not repeat the same skill! Anchors away!! :)

Give an example of an educational skill (just ONE) that students in K-12 need to or might want to be fluent (quick and accurate) in doing. What are the sub-skills needed to be fluent in the skill you identified? Why is this a skill that needs to be fluent? What problems could it cause if the student is not fluent in the skill. (Select a skill other than math facts.)

Describe a time that you tried to understand, or you were trying to explain something to someone, but you, or they,  lacked background knowledge or had an inaccurate mental model. Include ALL of the following in your post 1) the situation, 2) what was said, read, written, or communicated, 3) what made it difficult to comprehend, and 4) what would have aided you with either your comprehension or explanation. Label each part of your description 1 through 4.
